Note from Matthew:
Before I begin this next review, I have a great announcement (I won’t do this often), I have been accepted into Seneca college, in not just one program, but three: general arts, tourism management, and journalism. If any Seneca admins are reading this, thank you for giving me this opportunity, I look forward to it this autumn. Anyway, here we go.
Avengers: Infinity War
By Matthew Hunter
Without doubt some or most of my readers have seen this movie, it being the fifth top grossing movie of all time according to Business Insider, setting the world record for opening box office. I saw it on opening night, and I enjoyed it.
This movie was 10 years in the making, from the first Iron Man movie, to the other avengers movies, from Thor all the way to Black Panther, this entire lineup was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it took something small, and made it to be one of the best movie franchises of all time. There was so much anticipation for this movie, and the hype train did not crash, as a movie goer or a serious Marvel fan, there’s something to love here.
From the get-go, you can tell what kind of movie we’re in for. Thor and the Asgardians attacked by the Mad Titan Thanos, back to New York, a battle between one of Thanos’s minions and some of the Avengers: yes there is a lot of action here, well choreographed as well. There are some fantastic performances from multiple actors, including Josh Brolin, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, and even Peter Dinklage.
I can give credit to everyone who worked on the sets, costume design, the actors, the screenwriters, production designer, director, editor, cinematographer, music supervisor; everyone involved in the movie and its production did their job well.
If you are a serious marvel fan, if you’ve read some of the comics, watched some of the expanded universe movies or TV shows, you can find something here that can make you scream in excitement. From Thor’s Stormbreaker axe, to the post credit scene (I’m not spoiling it), there’s something for any real marvel fan.
I’d recommend this to any movie goer, there’s something here for everyone, even slight SLIGHT horror aspects.
Well, that would do it for now, next I will review the Action Comedy Deadpool 2 (which I found to be hilarious). Until next time.
